Devlog #4
Good evening,
This week has been a little slower for me, I haven't gotten too much done, but I figured I'd take the opportunity to lay out some plans we have for the next few weeks, and show off some art Hen has been getting done.
This is a small little ruin Hen made. We want to make our areas look well detailed and interesting, and I personally thought this was a great step in that direction, especially following last weeks decorative pieces.
This is a new building that Hen made, and if you look closely, you'll notice something peculiar wrapped around Mono...
It's a snake! One small element Hen and I have been thinking over is a companion for Mono, who will be both a useful asset and a brave friend for the player. This little snake you see here is a small little peek at this companion idea, and we have a lot of ideas for his usage, so be on the lookout for the snake hiding around our devlogs!
As for me, from the programming side, I've started work on a few new systems and ideas for this week, with not much to show quite yet.
Here's some of the things to be looking out for in the next few weeks:
Enemy Pathfinding
Enemy Patrolling
New Enemy Attacks
Lock on system
Stealth :o
Over a small discussion about tall grass, Hen and I decided that we wanted to add some stealth areas to the game, to add a layer of suspense in some areas and show off Mono's sneaky skills.
For a little bonus for getting down here, this is a piece of conceptual art for the fortune teller, made by Hen. The fortune teller will be an entity the player will encounter in The Mansion, who will hold a pivotal role in Mono's fate in the game..

The grass looks really nice at the bottom of the ruins, feels like it’s actually there instead of just floating on top. I think a tall grass/ stealth idea would be cool!
The ruin looks amazing! Companions sound fun. Will it just be the snake or will there be others? Is the snake going to have a name? Also, all the concept art is super cool! Makes me want to get my fortune told!
